show Abstracthide AbstractBurkholderia caribensis MBA4 is a soil isolate capable of utilizing haloacid as carbon and energy source. A haloacid operon containing a 2-haloacid dehalogenase and a specific permease is identified. The expression of this operon is regulated. The project is to obtain a complete genomic sequence of MBA4 with an aim to study the global response of the cell to the degradation of haloacid.
